Amazing Island is decent entertainment for a younger crowd, though they'd probably prefer a game featuring one of the franchises it tries so hard to emulate.
Amazing Island review:
However, these same players will be disappointed, confused, and fed up after a few compulsory rounds of mini-games. Perhaps the best audience for Amazing Island is kids, who will enjoy experimenting with the monster editor and may have more patience for the sub-par action elements. In any case, rent first.
Amazing Island review:
When Sega first brought down Amazing Island, we have to admit we were a tad sceptical. Whilst it looked endearing enough, there was something painfully generic about the game, from the cartoony graphics and the Super Monkey Ball type challenges to the RPG-action gameplay. It made us wonder what could possibly be so amazing about this island. But after playing through the game we have to confess there's a little Amazing Island-shaped space in our hearts. Awww.
