The sequel to Shaman King: Master of Spirits, players return in the role of Yoh Asakura as they traverse multiple stages filled with perils, enemies and traps in order to stop a diabolical shaman from resurrecting the evil "Guardian of Demons." To assist Yoh in his quest, players can collect the spirits of vanquished opponents and use these spirits to help him in battle.

Now, though, it's mainly interesting as a poor man's Castlevania. Someone jonesing for another "Metroidvania" fix might appreciate Master of Spirits 2 in the same way that a starving man feels lucky to have found a half-eaten burger in the trash. But Aria's excellent-looking sequel Dawn of Sorrow is due out in two months. With a steak dinner so close, why settle for table scraps?

Shaman King: Master Of Spirits 2 review:
As Yoh completes an area, the map opens up a bit and branches off into a variety of paths to explore. The only drawback to this is that it requires a lot of backtracking through stages. Personally, I would have liked to have the option to skip over some of the stages I'd already completed, or at least put the waypoints in the game a little closer together.
