Mario Party Advance review: A storyline in a single-player board game? Doesn't sound like Mario Party to me, and it's not, in the classic sense at least. But dialogue and those Nintendo mini-games you've come to love make it worth playing anyway.

Mario Party Advance preview: I loved Mario Party back when I owned an N64, it was great to play with a couple friends as an electronic "board" game. This version on GBA is accommodating for the single player, but also has features for multi-player games like previous versions. - Minna Kim Mazza, Grrlgamer.com

Mario Party Advance review: On paper there's loads to do, but you'll not feel compelled to do very much of it - even to try it out. After a few hours roaming around Shroom City playing minigames and quests you'll have seen more than enough. And if you haven't got the message yet, Mario Party Advance is possibly the worst videogame Nintendo has had the misfortune to publish. Avoid at all costs; this is disgracefully bad.

Mario Party Advance review: I said it earlier, but it should ring even more true after the mountain of fun evidenced above: If you own a GBA or SP, there is absolutely no reason not to own Mario Party Advance. Heck, even if you don’t own one yet, this is the perfect excuse—a true, must-own killer app. To break it down even further: Get the game. Play. Have fun.
Inside Gamer Online reviews
Mario Party Advance review: About half the minigames are multiplayer games, but they often require you to alternate players and the person with the higher score or fastest time wins. Only about a dozen minigames are full-fledged 4-player affairs, but they’re more of an annoyance especially with the fact that the 4-way game link cable can be all over the place, leaving everything feeling disoriented.

Mario Party Advance review: + More well-rounded and fleshed out as a single-player game than the other Mario Party titles.+ Lots to do; there is a decent amount of variety in the mini-games, unlockable modes and secrets to uncover.+/- It's still just Mario Party; not much new to see here, but it still has its charm.- Multiplayer mode is pretty weak; no board game.
