Gunstar Super Heroes review: Gunstar Super Heroes is a wonderful game for fans of the original, yet it provides an experience that others can easily jump into and thoroughly enjoy. The graphics and sound are the best the GBA has to offer, and the gameplay is challenging and rich. Do yourself a favor and don't miss the ride because it is most certainly worth it. Another quality product from Treasure!

Gunstar Super Heroes review: We don't recommend playing it on the Game Boy micro's tiny screen, as the frenetic action is already hard enough on the thumbs, but whether you play this on a handheld, or strap it in to your Game Boy Player and marvel at it on the big screen, Gunstar Super Heroes shows that the two-dimensional art form will never truly die.

Gunstar Super Heroes review: At E3 this year Gunstar Super Heroes, Treasure’s long-awaited GBA sequel to the classic 2D shooter Gunstar Heroes from the Sega Genesis, earned scores of awards from around the industry and garnered rabid recognition amongst the hardcore gaming public. With the game now available as of yesterday, the final payoff has without question lived up to the mountainous hype and expectation diehard fans and game critics alike had built up over the many years in craving for a second Gunstar adventure. The game plays like a dream, just like its 16-bit console predecessor, and pushes the GBA hardware to unthinkable new heights, ultimately rendering it as a prime candidate for GBA game of the year honors.

Gunstar Super Heroes review: If that sounds a little too goofy for you, there are also more traditional stages like a stage where you're riding atop a space ship that's zooming into the camera. As enemies fly at you from behind, you rotate the ship to aim (although technically, you're rotating the background around you).

Gunstar Super Heroes review: It's excessive and over the top, but that's exactly how we like our action games.

GameSpy previews
Gunstar Super Heroes preview: Like the original, there is a lot of variety in the stages. There are the standard "run to the right" stages, but then there's the bit where you run though a rotating level while collecting a mess of birds. Then there's the stage that's reminiscent of the original Gunstar where you're in a giant board game, upon which each space holds a different challenge or boss battle.
Modojo previews
Gunstar Super Heroes preview: It's got ideas in its head so overflowing and amazing you won't be able to take your eyes off the screen. And the gameplay guarantees a hardcore challenge that will no doubt mesmerize and bring back great old memories in an entirely different fashion. Look for more on this hot fall title soon.
