Tony Hawk's American SK8Land review:
The developers went back to the core ideals of the franchise, and came out with what made it fun, and fully customized to really shine on the DS.

Tony Hawk's American SK8Land is the first 3D Tony Hawk game experience for a NDS, featuring a unique cell-shaded art style, players must prove themselves to Tony Hawk and other legendary pros as they undertake hundreds of skating goals set in seven popular areas of Los Angeles and restore the ultimate skate park, American SK8Land, to its former glory.

Tony Hawk's American SK8Land review:
It's got the novelty of Wi-Fi, the cleverness to implement the touch screen in yet another original way, and the trusty exaggerated skateboard physics that make this one of the best platform series around (no arguing). And it features the voice of Tony Hawk telling me how great a skater I am, and the voice of me calling myself a dick.

Tony Hawk's American SK8Land review:
The game also takes advantage of Wi-Fi in a few interesting ways, and expert players will love the ability to compete for high scores with players across the country. For gamers looking to take the Tony Hawk experience on the go, this one is a solid buy. Author: Adam Bender   aka: Nightwing

Tony Hawk's American SK8Land review:
Vicarious Visions impressed everyone with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 on the Gameboy Advance because they pushed that system very early in its life. They have done the same with Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land. It has the solid gameplay you expect from the Tony Hawk franchise and adds some online multiplayer and fashionable visuals.

Tony Hawk's American SK8Land review:
Except for a couple spots where they shouldn't have utilized the touch screen, the game takes advantage of the Nintendo DS hardware and pushes it further than ever expected. So go paint yourself a custom skateboard and maybe I'll see or hear you online. -- Marty Chinn

Tony Hawk's American SK8Land review:
The ability to share your customizations with others on the fly is a very welcome addition to the DS. The absolute best, though, is the ability to use the system's microphone to personalize the experience of hitting a gap, special, or bailing hard. Mine says all kinds of things that would offend anyone within earshot as I play this game online at a Mickey D's.
