Super Mario 64 DS review:
Even if, like me, you cringe when you hear "Nintendo" and "port" in the same sentence, you should still check this one out. Fans of the original absolutely must play this, as the new stars, characters, and vastly improved graphics give us the pseudo-sequel that never was. The 36 minigames alone give enough reason to pick this one up, and the single cart multiplayer battle mode is just another nice little freebie thrown in to sweeten the deal. Let's hope we see some other Nintendo 64 favorites get this kind of treatment in the future… Zelda: Ocarina of Time anyone?

And those looking to keep occupied during their bus rides to and from school will become obsessed with every single mini-game available within this title. Super Mario 64 DS is nostalgic bliss and a fantastic launch title for the Nintendo DS. A must own for fans of Nintendo anything.

In Super Mario 64 DS, players choose one of four characters as they experience the groundbreaking Mario game in completely news ways exclusive to Nintendo DS, such as head-to-head wireless battling, new touch-sensitive mini-games and innovative control options.

Super Mario 64 DS review:
Porting any Mario game can be daunting, porting the most influential platformer of the 90s must be terrifying. But it's been done and it's been done very, very well - Mario DS is on to a winner in every respect.

Super Mario 64 DS review:
Mario 64 is bordering on ten years old now, and what a ten years it’s been. We’ve seen Mario swing around from one alternate adventure to another, never actually returning on his true path as a normal action adventure character. Although Mario 128 seems to be under development and under very close wraps, Super Mario 64 DS is the closest we will get to a normal Mario Action Adventure game for now, and it’s definitely a title worth getting.

Super Mario 64 DS review:
The Nintendo 64’s launch can be looked at in two ways. The first: it was a bad launch; it only had two games, one of which was merely a fun racing game on jet skis. The second: it was a brilliant launch, as it’s system-seller title created a genre, tamed the third dimension, and is still one of the best titles in the genre it invented.

Super Mario 64 DS review:
Thankfully, you’ll soon get used to your chosen method of control, and once you get stuck into the game the control method doesn’t make a difference. The game does lose a little bit of its accessibility for it though– which is a shame, given how simple and then-revolutionary the analogue stick was at the time. It almost, almost, feels like a step back.

Super Mario 64 DS review:
This is a finer 3D platform action game than you will find on any of the current consoles, much less any handheld system. Add to this mountain of quality a host of mini-games and single-card multiplayer, and it’s hard to imagine why any DS owner would want to miss out on reliving Super Mario 64 or playing it for the first time.

Super Mario 64 DS review:
The King of Platformers arrives at the launch of Nintendo’s latest innovation on-time with a remake of the Nintendo 64 classic, Super Mario 64. Yes, a port, but you’ll be very happy to know that this game feels completely new with added levels, mini-games and touch-screen control. You may get a small case of Déjà Vu in some parts but it isn’t enough to spoil this title. With Mario 64 DS Wario, Luigi and Yoshi come along for the ride too!

Super Mario 64 DS review:
Is Super Mario 64 DS as impressive as Mario 64 when it was released? No. But is Super Mario 64 DS a worthwhile purchase and my answer to that is yes. For those of you who never got the privilege of playing the original, or want to relive those fond memories, the game is a good purchase for you!

Super Mario 64 DS review:
Super Mario 64 DS is a well polished and great looking game. The game is very large and you’ll spend hours trying to find the last of the 150 stars as well as trying to unlock all the mini-games. The multiplayer add-on gives the game even more variety and replay value. Even though controlling characters at certain parts of the game is frustrating, the overall game is a must have for any DS gamer.

Super Mario 64 DS review:
A fantastic marvel that you should or must have. Some flaws here or there, but overall, this is practically one of the best games out for the Nintendo DS. A 9.0 at least should be enough to get you starving for this title if you don't have it already.

Super Mario 64 DS review:
Mario changed my life. There. I've admitted it at last. The transition from a fanatical comic reading pre-teen youth hung up on Dennis The Menace and Bananaman to hopelessly addicted Crash-reading computer gaming aficionado was all but assured from the moment Donkey Kong took its arcade bow. And yet, 22 years after our first encounter with the tubby moustachioed plumber Nintendo is still capable of flushing out cynicism, eradicating boredom and making us believe in the possibilities of gaming again.

Super Mario 64 DS review:
I’ll explain. Super Mario 64 DS is an updated version of SuperMario 64. It features the same plot and gameplay of its forbear with a few new tweaks to honor the eight year gap betweensystems and strange abilities of the new handheld device on which it now appears.

Super Mario 64 DS review:
Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime was quoted recently as saying, "Mario is like the postman - he delivers." Truer words were never spoken. The diminutive Italian plumber is a system and software-selling machine of the highest order, and even those who are not fans of Nintendo’s exploits must give credit where it is due. Not only does Mario represent money for the company, but also innovation for both Nintendo and the industry at large.
