GrrlGamer reviews
Resident Evil: Deadly Silence review: While RE Deadly Silence offers a Classic Mode to make the retro fans’ delight, there is a new Rebirth Mode which offers quite a few twists to the gameplay and make good use of the capabilities of the Nintendo DS. - Didi Cardoso, Grrlgamer.com
GrrlGamer previews
Resident Evil: Deadly Silence preview: Resident Evil Deadly Silence offers some new features but preserves a lot of the original game, including the grainy graphics and the bad voice acting (which somehow seems even more comical today). The clunky controls are also there, so if it was awkward playing RE back in the day, it will still be akward now, with the strange camera angles not helping. They do make up for the same “Oh crap!” feeling that I used to get when I first played RE on a Sega Saturn though! - Didi Cardoso, Grrlgamer.com

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence review: Pros:- Relive the original experience- Still masses of fun to play through- First-person knife fights add substantial challengeCons:- Control method still gets in the way of success- If you've already played RE to death, this may not have enough extras to warrant purchase

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence review: It's symptomatic of the lack of thought put into this game that the multiplayer mode scandalously requires that each player have their own cart. Deadly Silence is in no sense the radical Resident Evil title on Nintendo DS that we could have hoped for. Instead it's exactly the kind of cynical, soulless cash-in title that we thought Capcom had left behind with the stonking Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence review: Capcom is also to be commended for dreaming up improvements inspired by new hardware. But the multiplayer modes suffer from severely limited interaction and only three maps for play. The most promising new feature becomes routine very quickly, so before you know it the latest experiment in Raccoon city is over. -- Ernie Halal

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence review: Resident Evil: Deadly Silence will be a remake of the first RE title, released in 1996, but unlike the original, the DS version will not use pre-rendered graphics, but be in full 3D. One of the modes requires you to wipe the screen to slash your knife, and the dual screen will most likely be used for inventory and map. RE:DS will also support coop and other multiplayer modes.

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence review: Should you go out of your way to get it? Probably not, unless you’re a big fan of the series. Rent it if you can, at least. It’s a decent game in its own right, but maybe not quite something you’d want to spend much money on. Fun gameplay combined with decent graphics and hilarious voice acting make this game a solid addition to the DS’s library. But don't expect to be left speechless.

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence review: + The original game plus an enhanced Rebirth Mode. + Graphics look good on the Nintendo DS and Capcom included all of the cheesy live action cut scenes.+ You can skip the loading sequences.+ The traditional RE controls are intact. Yup, I actually like the old scheme. + Cheesy Resident Evil acting...for the win.- Not enough save points in the classic mode.- Multiplayer's pretty boring.

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence review: )The one aspect of the touch screen that I loved was using it to solve puzzles. Whether you're changing the hands on a clock or weighing gems, simply use the wand to manipulate the world. There was one instance where I had problems with the touch screen not responding -- after releasing the poison into the shark's water, the nearby valve wouldn't turn.
