Nanostray review: The homing bullets are far too handy not to use, and with infinite ammo there's little reason to swap to another weapon type. This is where Nanostray falls into one of those nasty catch 22 situations: if they had made it tougher then chances are it would have become unforgiving, and possibly as frustrating as Treasure's pad-gnawing Ikaruga.

Nanostray review: This scrolling shooter is fun, but a little too short and somewhat unchallenging.

Nanostray review: Nanostray is a great little shoot ‘em up and of course a portable one at that. Ultimately though, DS owners now have something to silence the crowd that mock the graphical capabilities of the Nintendo handheld, and that can only be a good thing for future releases.

Nanostray review: It's hard to go wrong when you take resemblances of Axelay and Ikaruga, two of the best space shooters around, and put together a cutting-edge and modern shooter that manages to look and play as good as most shooters on even the current generation home consoles, and still somehow do all of this on a small handheld system like the Nintendo DS. Intense challenge, loads of replay value, and enough to do to keep even the most tested shooter fan busy for several hours, all come together in a very surprising DS release that shows just how far along portable game systems have come over the past few years.

Nanostray review: Truthfully, it isn’t a bad game, but its appeal only reachs a small niche. It has one big advantage, however; at this moment Nanostray is ‘the best’ as it’s the only shoot-em up game you can get for the DS. If you’re desperate for one, then look no further... ‘cause y’know, you won’t, erm... find any others.©

Nanostray review: Nanostray could have easily been a standout game on this platform, but unfortunately the game didn't cut it for me. I can't emphasize enough how much potential this game had on the Nintendo DS, but unfortunately none of this was put to use and we are left with a sub-par video game that I would only recommend at most as a rental.

Nanostray review: A 3D sci-fi shooter, Nanostray boasts a wide array of weapons, un-lockable features and game modes, as well as an online ranking system that tracks the game's top players. Nanostray's touch screen features will allow players to track enemy movement via interactive radar and manage the various weapons and other special pick ups.

Nanostray review: If Shin’en would have utilized both screens for gameplay to facilitate shmup-tradition tate mode, made it a true two-dimensional view, and allowed weapon changing through mapped buttons; then it would be improved tenfold. As is, it’s a short, beautiful, fun game with awkward gameplay. -- Tony Barrett

Nanostray review: It’s a fact: scrolling shooters get absolutely no love anymore, and it seriously ticks me off. Gamers seem to either love the old-school style and hardcore challenge of the genre, or bash it for the same exact reasons. With Majesco’s Nanostray for the Nintendo DS, this rule definitely applies as it has everything fans adore about shooters and everything haters despise. But that’s all right though, because while you naysayers out there pass this puppy by, the hardcore gaming community (myself and the entire BonusStage team included) will be enjoying a fine work of portable gaming and a definitive reason to own a DS.
