Metroid Prime: Hunters review:
What the franchise loses in the transition from console to handheld, it makes up with intuitive control and the best multiplayer the DS has to offer. You'll be playing this one for a long time.

In the end, what Nintendo has really done with this game is set the bar extremely high for any future portable FPS title that even wants to be considered above average.

Metroid Prime: Hunters review:
In the fall of 2004, those that were lucky enough to find the new Nintendo DS were also given the opportunity to demo Metroid Prime: Hunters. Although the game was still in development at the time, players were able to experience just how the DS’s new touchscreen functionality could bring the first person shooter genre to a portable format. In addition, the demo also offered players multiplayer deathmatches, which utilized the wireless capabilities to hookup with other nearby Metroid players. Well, fast forward nearly a year and a half later and the full version of Hunters has finally released for the masses to consume.

Metroid Prime: Hunters review:
The way that the Rival system works is that players can single out an opponent after a match has ended and mark that person as a rival. They'll be able to go head-to-head with the multitude of game modes, but won't be able to chat.

Metroid Prime: Hunters review:
Metroid Prime: Hunters is not a life-changing experience (if you discount the coming years of physiotherapy on my arms) but it is an astoundingly competent first-person shooter. While the multiplayer mode is a flimsy experience unless you have friends you can rely on, the single-player mode offers a worthy adventure even for players who don't ever expect to take the game online.
