Burnout Legends review:
Criterion Games’ Burnout franchise has become the best arcade racing series around, and for good reason. With their adrenaline-pumping speed and over-the-top crashes, the four console Burnouts have continued to get better and better with each new installment, and even the series’ recent debut on the PSP, Burnout Legends, turned out to be one of the greatest portable racers ever created. Crossing the development finishing line a few months after the PSP edition, Burnout Legends has burned rubber onto the DS, and without knowing any better DS owners may see the Burnout name on the box and think they finally have their chance to experience the brilliant Burnout experience. But let us step in and warn you before it’s too late. Burnout Legends for the DS is clearly among 2005’s ranks of worst games of the year, so whatever you do please do not waste your money on this putrid pile of racing crapola and forget its very existence.

Burnout Legends review:
The sound effects are muffled, taking away a lot of the effect of ramming an automobile that weighs several tons into a bus.Given that the DS hardware is woefully underutilized, Burnout Legends is simply a shoddy game. The essential ingredients are here, but there are flash games that have had more quality work put into them. Get the console version instead, you'll be glad you did.

Burnout Legends review:
As it pans up, you'll often notice you're about to get into a wreck…because you'll already be in the wreck. Plus, what's up with the cash handouts in Burnout DS? We're used to banking a few hundred G's, at least, as we produce mayhem and carnage. Here we're lucky to crack 15 or 20 grand. Stingy.

Burnout Legends review:
Even with the Crash Mode being a let down, Burnout Legends is easily one of the best racers on the Nintendo DS. The fact that Criterion has put all the little nuances of the Burnout series in one little DS cart is amazing. This is a must buy for racing and even non-racing fans who want a little action on their DS.-- Brian Peterson

Burnout Legends review:
Just because Burnout Legends has the name on the box does not rightfully make it a Burnout game, and this decrepit DS racer is most definitely not Burnout.

Burnout Legends review:
But some of the tracks are out in the open, providing no sense of speed at all. Burnout Legends is at its best when it places you in a constrained track where you’re able to run for a few seconds and get speed and really get a sense of that speed. Of course, then a mediocre crash happens, you lose all the speed, and are thrown out in the open. That ruins it.

Burnout Legends review:
If you want a Burnout game, buy any other Burnout game ever made, and leave Burnout Legends for the DS very much alone.
