Here is a listing of some useful search tips that could save your time and efforts while using Gamepublic.

1.For better results, use official game titles, rather than slangy. "Unreal Tournament 2004" works better than "Unreal".
2.Make your queries as specific as possible. If you"re looking for a single game of "Commander Keen" series, use index numbers. For instance, "Commander Keen 5".
3.In case your search returned no results and if a game title has comma or dash symbols, try to replace it with a space in your query.
4.You may filter out platform-specific games by clicking platform title at Search Results Platform Filter box at the top-right corner of every search page.
5.Gamepublic searches are not case sensitive. For example, searches for "doom iii", and "Doom III" will all return the same results.
6.Gamepublic searches are not sensitive to the way you write game index numbers, both roman numerals and arabic numerals work in the same way.
7.You can customize search results page using search preferences page.
8.Gamepublic enables you to save certain search preferences, including the number of results to show per page, platform and game channel preferences.
9.You can increase the accuracy of your searches by adding operators that fine-tune your keywords. Click here for the listing of operators Gamepublic supports.
10.You may narrow your search by adding platform to your query. [Max Payne xbox] query will return all Max Payne games on Xbox platform.
11.You may narrow "too-broad" search by adding channel to your query. [Doom cheats] query will return all games from Doom series which have at least one link in the Cheats channel.
12.If you're looking for previews for "Half-Life 2" game, use "Half-Life 2 previews" query instead of just "Half-Life 2" to save your time.
13.To save your time you may want put game channel into your query. For instance, [Doom 3 cheats] query returns direct links to the Cheats channel for Doom on all available platforms.
14.To narrow your "too-broad" search, you can enter both platform and channel into your query. [Max Payne xbox reviews] query will return direct links to the Reviews channel of Max Payne on Xbox platform.
15.By using [date:] operator, you may narrow your search to games released after specified date. [pc date:2004] query will search for all PC games of 2004 year.
16.You may narrow your search by using [rating:] operator. [xbox rating:90] query will return all Xbox games with ratings of 80% and above.
17.You can increase the number or results displayed per page to any value using [results:] operator.
18.The [genre:] operator will list all games of selected genre(s). You may put several genres into your query, dividing them with a comma. [pc genre:action,adventure,fantasy] query will search for all PC games of action, adventure and fantasy genres.
19.If you include [site:] in your query, Gamepublic will restrict the results to those websites in the given domain. For instance, [Max Payne site:gamespot] will find all links for Max Payne from Gamespot website, grouped by platform.
20.The query [related:] will list all games that are "similar" to a specified game. For instance, [related:enclave] will list all games that are similar to Enclave game.
21.The query [company:] will list all games that have been either published or deloped by the company from your query.
22.If you include [top:] in your query, Gamepublic will restrict the results to the amount of games specified in the value of this operator and sort them by ratings. For instance, [top:10 pc] query will return top 10 PC games of all time.
